[coming in the door]
[my lovely bed and "nightstand"]
[I'm so glad mom let me bring these shelves: LIFE SAVERS!]
[I'm so glad I can hang just about everything]
It's not much but it feels like it's mine.
Today started out with a smoothie for breakfast: one banana, 2/3 cup frozen strawberries, 2/3 cup frozen blueberries and 1 cup milk. Four ice cubes added for thickness. It was a super tasty way to start my new life here.
After breakfast I biked to Target to buy a few shower accessories I realized I forgot to bring. I am so glad mom suggested bringing a bike. It's so nice to get outside and do something! And biking on pavement is so much easier than gravel!
Lunch was an egg scramble with cheese and a side of (2) cut up roasted potatoes and a glass of whole milk from the farm.
When I got to the Y a few minutes before 3:00 and the man at the desk said he was going to be late, but I could fill out an application while I waited. He got there about 15 minutes later and I quickly finished up the application. We talked and it sounded like I was going to get it if all my referenced checked out. I know they will, so here's to hoping I get the job!
After I got back, Dean (my uncle) was getting ready for National Night Out. Since he's the manager of the apartment, he put together a cook out for all the renters. I sat out there with him for a couple hours visiting with random people that came out for a while before supper. Dean cooked hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill and everyone else brought salads. It was fun and I got to know a few of my neighbors! There is a little boy named Eric I want to photograph when I start school. He's almost two and he's the cutest little boy I've ever seen: half Mexican, half Brazilian. He has very thick hair and long eye lashes hiding huge eyes. I hope to shoot him sometime and share with you!
I'm about ready to crash after a long day. I'm looking forward to what tomorrow will bring!
