An Easter Weekend Review with "LET THE GAMES BEGIN!"

Hello!  Hello!

I hope all of you Easter weekends were splendid!  I am so excited to share with you what I got to do for Easter!  I hope you're ready for this very picturesque post!

I have to mention right here that I did my hair real fancy!  And here's a picture!  I had a matching ribbon around the waist of my dress and nails to match!

In the morning we had coffee and rolls before our Sunday School and worship service.  I had half a jelly filled donut, then went back for another half.  It was superb!

In the worship service Elizabeth and I played a piano duet - Via Delarosa - for offertory.  It was beautiful!  My mom and I played our guitars and sang a duet called Alleluia! Alleluia!

After the service, we started the lovely trek to North Dakota to visit some family.  We arrived around 1:30 and lunch was soon set and ready for us to eat.
This is my plate:

I had mashed potatoes, ham glazed with apple pie filling, chicken baked in a creamy sauce, corn, carrots, baked asparagus and avocado basil salad.

It was all very delicious!

And my grandma had to make this amazing dessert:

It is sugar-free jello mixed with light Cool Whip layered with angel food cake chunks, mixed with fresh strawberries.  This was like a little piece of heaven!  It was light and fluffy and so so tasty!

My cousin Abby made a wonderful key lime pie with graham cracker crust.  I have never had this before, and it was so good!

My cousins Robin and Blake just had a daughter last year named Mya.  She is a little cutie pie and I enjoyed taking candid pictures of her with my aunt DeDe's fancy Nikon camera.  It was so fun!

She was always in pursuit of her shoe that we would move around so that she could never quite get it! :)

And when it was time for Mya to go home, she looked so forlorn!  I could tell she just wanted to stay and play with me some more!! ;)

My grandma decided to tempt me (not on purpose!) with a delicious looking Easter basket for our family.  Somehow she knows me too well and put all my favorite candies in it such as Reese's Peanut Butter Egg, Snickers, Peanut Butter M&M's, and dark chocolate.  I will just have to wait till this coming Sunday to eat one of them!

After all the cousins left, my grandma, aunt, mom, and me played Mexican Rummy.  It is our staple game that we play at just about every family get together!

I won. :)

----------

Monday brought a new dynamic as we are starting our 8-Week-Get-Healthy-Challenge!  We have eight people in!  I'm so very excited to see how everyone is doing after this first week!  I'm cheering for you all!!

I started our my day with two circuits of my Daily Work out:

I was also going to run, but it was a frigid 40 degrees and very windy.  I have gotten so used to 60's that 40 just sends goose bumps down my spine!

Katy came over to get the challenge charts and I invited her over later for super and to do a seven day arm work out challenge.

I also made a green smoothie for her so she could get in one of her veggies!  (I'm so nice!)  I put strawberries, almond milk, peaches, and blueberries in it along with about 1 1/2 cups of kale.  It turned out very delicious despite it's brownish color!

This was Monday of the arm challenge:
3 circuits of:
12 tricep pushups
20 second rest
12 bicep curls
20 second rest
12 tricep extensions
1 minute rest

For supper my mother made her gourmet  grilled cheese sandwiches with homemade tomato soup.  It hit the spot!

Instead of using butter and american cheese, she uses olive oil mixed with basil and garlic powder.  Then she uses regular mozzarella or cheddar cheese.  It is the best!

I hope all your day ones of the EIGTH WEEK GET HEALTHY CHALLENGE went well!

I wish you all good luck!!
