Muscling Through

This weekend was pretty average with nothing exceptional happening.  Except for that cold I'm just getting over.  I wasn't much in the mood to photograph my food so I only have a one weekend eat to share.

Scrambled eggs with one cut up cheddar brat.

I woke up unable to breath due to congestion at about 2 AM on Monday.  I also had a pounding headache.  I really didn't want to have to get up an hour later to milk cows.  But I drank some water and blew my nose and fell back asleep.

I then went to visit Matt.  [But only after I milked cows.]  We ate lunch when I got there.  I wasn't very hungry and I couldn't decide what to eat.  At first I wanted peanut butter toast with banana slices on it, but he didn't have any bananas.  Can you image?!  A house without bananas?!  So then I was going to have peanut butter and jelly on toast.  Well, once we got the bread in the toaster, I decided to just go with untoasted bread with peanut butter and jelly.  Sadly, all Matt had was store bought grape jelly.  I've forgotten how sweet that stuff is!  Man!  I also put a little too much on, so that didn't help.  But because I put so much peanut butter on it (like I always do), it was okay.

We went to see Avengers and I bought a medium popcorn.. more like a huge bag!  It was totally worth it though.

The movie was excellent!  Definitely want to see it again when it comes out!!  Possibly a movie to actually go out and buy.  That's a big deal for me!

We took out the guns (no, not our massive biceps! ;) ) and went to shoot some targets.  I actually hit some, which was encouraging!  Matt went around blowing up dandelions with the bebe gun!  It was quite humorous.

We then relaxed and watched some TV.  We went to Little Caesar's for supper.  I love Matt's mom: she likes Hawaiian pizza too!!  So we got Hawaiian and [plain old boring] pepperoni pizza and a bag of breadsticks.  It was tasty, but not as good as my mother's homemade (of course!).

I arrived home wore out and ready for bed.

Tuesday was a very dull day of work and boredom.  When I got home from work, I found my parents not getting supper ready and looking like they weren't going to do anything about it.  I though it very strange so I asked what was for supper.  Mom had to tell me the dreadful news: they accidentally ate without me!  *GASP!*  So I was on my own.  I made myself a very tasty leftover meal.  Tomato soup with a grilled chicken sandwich.  This is my favorite way to eat left over grilled chicken breast!  Cold, on hot toast!

Today I milked cows in the morning then ate a hearty breakfast.  One egg, one egg white scrambled with goat cheese.  It was pretty good.

I had to have peaches on the side because I needed orange juice and that was the closest thing we had.

I love our canned peaches because they aren't in a sugary syrup.  Mom cans them with apple juice so there is still sugar, but it's not a syrup and it's tasty to drink!

I took about an hour and half nap to refresh myself.

I got up and it was time for lunch!  I made a recipe from the INSANITY book: Citrus Baked Chicken.  It was pretty tasty.  I had a baked potato on the side..  this was the smallest one we had.  With a side of green beans.

I browsed the great world wide web and found a great website: jog.fm.  You can enter your time for a mile and it will give you a huge list of songs that will help you pace yourself.  I got a bunch for a 13 minute mile and transferred them to my phone [after much help from Matt, thanks dear] then went to run.  To my disappointment and happiness I need a faster mile!  Thirteen was more a very brisk walk.

I ran a mile: straight through.  Without stopping.  For the first time since tenth grade!  I was only going to run half a mile, then walk, but I got to the half mile mark and though, I could keep going.  So I did.  But before I got to the half mile, I got weak legs and my body was ready to give up.  I couldn't do that.  So I just had to muscle through.  And you know, it isn't all that bad once you get over that immediate fatigue.  I was really proud of myself!  After I ran the first mile, I walked the second.  Then ran about a quarter mile then walked a half mile, then tried to run the last part.  My phone was acting funny and not playing the songs all the way through so I had to stop to fix it.  It works now!  Maybe tomorrow I will actually time myself for a mile and get a bunch of music for that speed.

I also decided to utilize a website I had used before but not ever fully explored: Livestrong.com.  It has a calorie tracker so you can see how much you should eat depending on your build and whether you want to lose, gain or maintain weight.  Go check it out!

For supper I made Baked Chicken Oriental for me and my parents.  It must have been a baked chicken day!  In my house, we have a four star system for rating food.  This one has been a long time favorite: four out of four stars and an exclamation point in 1997!

It was a great day of new things: a mile run, jog.fm and Livestrong.com.  What's new in your lives?
