And Thus, the Journey Continues...


Hello all!!
     Welcome to my blog!  I hope to be able to post in here somewhat regularly!
     As I am new to this whole blogging thing, I may fumble about a bit to begin with. ;)
     I thought I could start out with a little background about myself and why I am doing this...
I grew up in the best household ever!  I love my parents and two older brothers (even though I didn't realize I loved them 'til they left the home) - Ben, eight years older (married to Joy with daughter Mak) and Isaiah, four years older (married to Rosanna).
     Through my life I have always know that I was "fat."  Although I never actually told anyone this, and no one ever said it to me, I knew.  No matter how often I told myself I was "big-boned," I knew I was fat.  I always resolved to get fit and be healthy.  But four hours later, I would be scarfing down some delectable dessert or fatty bag of chips.  Or cheese- I am addicted to cheese.. I love it in any way, shape or form.  String cheese, Cheez-Its, spreadable cheese, cheesy chips, mac-n-cheese, and just plain old block cheese.  It's my downfall..
     Finally, this past fall my friend (Katy), who has a similar problem, told me she wanted to lose some weight this year.  And what do you know? - so did I!  We decided to work out together.  This worked splendidly since I was unable to go to school this fall.  (The program I wanted to get into was full since I didn't decide to go 'til the June before the school year started.  I already have one year of college under my belt - music education - but I am much more ecstatic to go to school for my dream job - portraiture photography!)
     Katy had ChaLEAN Extreme from Beachbody.  I definitely liked it and remember telling my boyfriend Matt after the first cardio workout (Tuesday night) that I couldn't wait 'til I could do all the things they did on the video.  Now, six months later, I can.. easily!  Along with working out, I began eating healthier portions- I used Weight Watchers food guide books.  I logged my eating for about three months and at the end of it, I had lost about 20 pounds! VICTORY!
     After we completed ChaLEAN, I bought INSANITY from Beachbody.  My first 60 days through that, I lost only about 10 pounds.  I was disappointed but knew it was because I had not been eating very healthy.  So, I made a resolution!  I - Tabitha - was going to be one of "those people" and work out in the mornings.  I began and have been doing it semi-successfully for about three weeks now.  Currently I am doing INSANITY in the morning and ChaLEAN with Katy in the evenings that I can get over to her house.  As you can tell, I may have fallen in love with working out!
     I was inspired to start this blog and make healthy choices again because of this great blog - Iowa Girl Eats.  She's got tons of great recipes and work outs on her blog!!  I'm hoping to share some of my limited knowledge about health and fitness and possibly some crafty ideas I have. :)

Current weight: 210.0 lbs.
